Knossos Palace
Approximately 40km (45min with car), it is the oldest of all Minoan Palaces dating back to 7000bc. Guided tours available. Excursions available from Sirens Beach & Village.
Malia Summer Palace
Approximately 3km east of Sirens Beach & Village, this is the third-largest Minoan palace in Crete, built in a wonderful setting near the sea, just a 20 minute walk away. Guided tours available.
Samaria or "Farangas"
The longest gorge in Europe at 18km along the longest route. It starts from the Omalos Plateau and runs down to the seaside village of Agia Roumeli on the south coast of Crete. Excursions available from Sirens Beach & Village.
Spinalonga
Close to Elounda, just over 35km from Sirens Beach & Village, it's a small island fortress where lepers from Crete and other parts of Greece where quarantined, until 1957. It was also used to defend and control Elouda. Beautiful location and great history. Elounda is a picturesque location with beautiful beaches, restaurants and cafes. Agios Nikolaos
Picturesque fishing town with an established tourism industry, approximately 30km from Sirens Beach & Village. At its heart is the Agios Nikolaos lake surrounded by colourful restaurants, cafes and bars. Agios Nikolaos is on the national bus line and takes approximately 45 minutes from Malia.
Heraklion Market
Heraklion is the largest and Capitol city of Crete. It is easy to reach by bus or car from Sirens Beach & Village. Every Saturday the Heraklion Market is a bustling event offering clothes, souvenirs and all types of local fruits and vegetables – located off the Leof. Eth. Antistaseos.
